Unlike last year, Tipperary are still alive in the Hurling Championship after emerging from their qualifier against Galway.

Former Tipp hurler and manager Nicky English joined us on the line and he feels that moving Padraic Maher and James Barry was the "catalyst" for Tipperary's winning of the game.

He also believes that Tipp have "got themselves back on the road", even if a few issues remain to be ironed out.

"They are dangerous and the rest of the teams won't like to meet them," said English, who also spoke about a lack of options at full-back for manager Eamon O'Shea, as well as centre-back.

English also discussed Lar Corbett who scored 0-2 against Galway.

"That was his first start since Kilkenny in Nowlan Park last year. It's very hard to come in like that with just three or four weeks training under your belt and perform. I think the important thing for Lar is that he got those couple of points," said English, who feels winning ball is the key for Tipp.

"If Tipperary can win enough ball, they have enough class and skill to punish any team. But winning the ball particularly in the half-forward line and midfield, that's been difficult."
