Newcastle and Ipswich have agreed a fee over the transfer of Daryl Murphy as Rafa Benitez looks to build depth at the striker position, according to reports.

The 33-year-old has been at Ipswich for three years and has scored 67 goals for the club with the bulk of them coming during the 2014-15 season when he landed 27.

Rafa Benitez has option at the striker with Dwight Gayle returning to the Championship where he appears most comfortable and Aleksandar Mitrovic. The attritional nature of the league means Benitez was on the lookout for an experienced striker and it appears Murphy is his man.
