It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well technically it is but we all know that it can get more than a little stressful trying to plan your TV schedule over the Christmas period.
First of all, we would probably suggest utilising your recording features to the full potential as there are quite a few shows on at the same time that are definitely worth a watch.
Here are some of the best TV picks for New Year's Day.
1. The Wizard of Oz - Channel 4, 4.10pm
No Christmas would really be complete with Dorothy and her visit to the wonderful land of Oz. A classic by any stretch of the imagination that still looks as beauitul as the day it was released, The Wizard of Oz is essential Christmas viewing.
2. David Attenborough's Conquest of the Skies - Sky1, 7pm
The latest landmark series from David Attenborough will arrive on Sky 1 HD and Sky 3D this New Years Day, telling the story of nature's greatest aeronauts and the intricate engineering that has allowed them to conquer the skies. Attenborough follows the evolutionary process of how one billion birds learned to fly and begins with the planet's first flyers.
3. Pat Kenny: Out with the Old - In with the U - UTV Ireland, 8.30pm
On the night UTV launches on New Year's Day, Pat Kenny will take a look back at the year and look ahead to 2015. The station will launch at 7.25pm.
4. The Dark Knight - UTV, 9pm
The second in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, many consider the Dark Knight his best work. With a career best performance from Heath Ledger and some damn fine action scenes, this is certainly one to check out on New Year's Day.
5. Julie Walters: A Life on Screen - BBC Two, 10.30pm
Julie Walters is without a shadow of a doubt one of the finest actresses of our generation and this documentary that will look at her life on the big screen will certainly prove that. It's on quite late but is certainly worth recording for that Ledger performance alone.
