John Joe Nevin has confirmed his decision to turn professional.

The London Olympic silver medal winner has joined the Philadelphia-based GreenBlood boxing stable.

The 24-year-old is hoping to sign with an established promoter within the next few weeks and is expected to make his professional debut early next year.

Nevin says his ultimate ambition is to one day defend a world title at Croke Park.
