The NFL is facing yet another lawsuit with a group of retired players set to take the league to court.

The eight players named in the lawsuit allege that the NFL illegally supplied them with narcotics and painkillers which led to medical complications later in life.

Tonight we spoke to former Denver Broncos tightend Nate Jackson who wrote a critically acclaimed memoir called Slow Getting Up: A Story of NFL Survival from the Bottom of the Pile and once chatted to us about his use of human growth hormone.

"I did believe it was a matter of time before this would come up. There's seems to be no end to the number of ways that you can pin medical negligence on some of the doctors and the way that the NFL has done business over the years. A lot of these guys, now that they are retired are running into a lot of issues physically, mentally, no more money and those issues are manifesting themselves in lawsuits," said Jackson, who admitted that some parts of the film Any Given Sunday reflect the reality of an NFL dressing room.

He told us about the conflict of interest which does not see players receive their medical files and are given substances to mask their pain.

Jackson also explained why players are unable to stand up for themselves and their interests.
