Nate Diaz's performance on Saturday night might have won him more than just the bout against Conor McGregor.

Diaz certainly won a few fans on the night with his performance, but it seems that UFC President Dana White has also decided that it might have deserved a shot at welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, White said "You know what would make a lot of sense? This isn't the fight I'm making, I'm just saying, Nate [Diaz] and Robbie Lawler would make a lot of sense. His brother beat [Lawler]. Robbie's now the world champion and Nate became very, very popular tonight. We'll see what happens with Nate, but listen, for me to try to predict what one of the Diaz brothers is going to do? Who knows?"

Lorenzo Fertitta, Chairman & CEO of the UFC, seems to also be in line with that idea, according to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times.

As pointed out by MMA Fighting, White has previously stated that he would like to see a Nick Diaz v. Lawler rematch, but the elder Diaz is currently serving a suspension for a failed drug test.

However, given that Tyron Woodley considers himself the next man in line for a title shot, there may yet be some match-making magic to be done to make the potential bout feasible.

Woodley was clear that he expects to be the man in the octagon opposite Lawler at UFC 200, but Diaz may have just jumped the queue.
