The opening round of the NFL Draft took place on Thursday night in Philadelphia, which many unexpected moves taken by a variety of teams.

Myles Garrett was unsurprisingly the first pick in the Draft. The 21-year-old defensive end was seen as the top star in the Draft, and was picked by the Cleveland Browns.

The drama began with the second pick, as Chicago moved up one spot with San Francisco in exchange for three picks. The Bears selected quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in what was the biggest shock of the night.

Among the players selected in the top ten was Christian McCaffrey. The running-back was selected at #8 by Carolina Panthers, and is the son of three-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey. 

Three quarterbacks were picked in total in the first round. Kansas City Chiefs moved from #27 to #10 to pick Patrick Mahomes, while Houston Texans swapped their position with Cleveland's second first round pick to select Deshaun Watson.

TJ Watt, brother of Houston Texans' star JJ was a late first round pick. The linebacker will join the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Over 220 picks remain in the Draft, which will take place on Friday and Saturday over a further six rounds. Five teams, including the New England Patriots have yet to make their first picks.
