Limerick's Myles Casey wrote his name into the history books of the European Games this morning. The flyweight became the first fighter to win a bout in the events history.
Casey defeated Ivan Fihurenka 29-28 this morning in their last 16 bout. The Limerick fighter won two out of the three rounds on all three boxers scorecards.
Two time Olympian Paddy Barnes was one of the first to congratulate Casey.

Olympian Darren O'Neill was in action in the heavyweight divison. He comfortably defeated his Romanian opponent Ionut Jitaru.
