Andy Murray has marched into the men's second round at Wimbledon after courtside temperatures hit 41 degrees at one point today at the All England Club.

Murray had to play in the hottest conditions, in comparison to rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer earlier, and the home favourite was made to work hard out on Centre Court before claiming a straight sets victory over Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin.

The 2013 champion took victory by a score of 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 and will face the Netherlands' Robin Haase in the next round.
