The influx of South African talent to Thomond Park is continuing with the news that Munster have signed 22-year-old Jean Kleyn.

The second-row lock joins the province on a three-year deal from the Stormers and has made 17 appearances with the Stormers and represented Western Province on 22 occasions. He has yet to be capped by South Africa.

The Krugersdorp player is a product of the Western Province youth system, before forcing his way into the team. He joined the Stormers in 2014, where he gained Super Rugby experience.

Kleyn joins his former defence coach Jacques Nienaber in moving from Cape Town to Limerick. The second row will join the province in August subject to being granted a valid work permit.

Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus said, "Jean is a hugely exciting prospect and a great addition to the province. I've seen his development first hand and with Jacques' extensive knowledge of him we are all up to speed on how Jean can contribute to the squad. A naturally athletic player we believe he will add further value to the pack and we look forward to welcoming him to Munster."
