Munster added a third chapter to the dominance of Irish clubs in this weekend’s Heineken Cup action with a 36-8 demolition of Perpignan at Thomond Park.

Tries from Sean Dougall, Dave Kilcoyne, Keith Earls and James Coughlan were supplemented with a penalty try to complete a rout over a flat Perpignan outfit.

Dougall crossed the line after just two minutes, with Conor Murray largely to thank following some good work in the build up from the scrumhalf.

The game was not a vintage for the purists but its somewhat sloppy nature did lend itself to entertainment.

Kilcoyne added the second on 25 minutes, before Earls crossed late in the half following a quick break from a turnover.

Perpignan started the second half brighter and were rewarded with a penalty, which was knocked over by James Hook.

A penalty try on 65 minutes secured the bonus point for Munster and a last minute try from Coughlan proved the icing on the cake.

Munster now top Pool 6 with 10 points.
