Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says they are not in the market for a striker this month.

The Blues forward line has infamously misfired this season with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba netting seven goals in the Premier League between them.

The Blues have been linked with several players inlcuding Gonzalo Higuan, but Mourinho has reiterated that he will not beef up his forward line during the January transfer window.

"[Buying a striker] is not a priority, it is not an option. We have three. The market is open, but for us, almost closed," he said.

"Higuain is a player I know we cannot get, why should we be interested in someone we feel is not available?"

Mourinho also added that they will not sell attacking midfielder Juan Mata to another Premier league club, although Ireland and Leeds legend John Giles told Off The Ball that it looks like the Spain international's spell at Chelsea is coming towards an end.
