Donegal might have liked to win more convincingly than they did against Armagh, while Dublin might not have expected to defeat a generally defensive Monaghan by as big a scoreline as they did.

But either way, the Dubs and Donegal will go head-to-head in the All Ireland semi-final as predicted.

How do both sides' performances help each other plan for the upcoming Croke Park encounter?

To answer that, Joe and Wooly were joined by former Armagh All Ireland winner Oisin McConville and former Dublin forward Mossy Quinn.

Oisin was proud of Armagh's performance against Donegal and also felt that the Orchard County could have got over the line, while Mossy believes the challenge for Armagh is how they transition in terms of their gameplan.

But in terms of how Donegal will react to Dublin, Oisin was clear in what he thought the team's intentions will be.

"I think they will be ultra defensive. The one thing they will need to do is get more bodies forward to support. But still, the biggest thing I've seen as far as Dublin go this year, they're very good at carrying the ball and taking the right options - picking the right option more and more," he said and believes the Dubs will figure Donegal out and go on to win the game. He and Wooly agreed that Donegal cannot play their defensive system and pressurize Stephen Cluxton's crucial kickouts all at once.

Mossy expects Donegal will find it hard to deal with the pace Dublin will bring in attack and also believes that no team has discovered a solution that can stop Jim Gavin's side in their tracks.

The lads also discussed styles of play that could stymie the Dubs to an extent and you can listen to the full chat via the podcast player above.
