Michael Schumacher could live a "relatively normal life" soon according to the Formula 1 legend's friend and former Ferrari team boss Jean Todt.
The German suffered severe head injuries as the result of a skiing accident in December.
He was released from hospital in Lausanne in September to continue his rehabilitation at home.
Schumacher is currently being cared for at a purpose-built facility in his home in Switzerland and after paying him a visit, Todt believes the seven-time champion racer is making good progress.
"We must assume that Schumacher can lead a relatively normal life again within a short period of time," said Todt.
"We can say he can probably never drive a Formula 1 car again. But he is fighting. His condition improved, and what is just as important is the fact that he is now at home with his family."
