Michael Hoey is the best of the Irish players after the opening day of the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
Hoey has carded a first round of 71 to sit on 1-over par, which is seven shots off the lead.
Paul Dunne finished the day on two-over par, but European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke dropped five shots in his final two holes to slump to 8-over.

Paul Peterson of the USA and France's Mike Lorenzo-Vera share the lead on 6-under after carding 64s.
