Fulham are prepared to let Bryan Ruiz leave the club.

The Costa Rican midfielder has scored once this season, after costing a reported £10 million plus from FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Ruiz was generally impressive last season, scoring five goals and adding nine assists as Fulham secured 12th place in the Premier League.

But this season he has failed to make a similar impact and was linked with a loan deal to Real Betis this week.

The Cottagers' manager Rene Meulensteen said a move away for Ruiz would suit all parties.

"I've come in. I've looked at the squad and I've worked with these players. I pick my teams on what I think are the right reasons and motivations and I can also understand Bryan's. He's a good player with a World Cup coming up and he obviously needs to play," said the former Manchester United assistant.
