Lionel Messi has agreed a new deal with Barcelona, which will reportedly make him the highest paid footballer in the world.

The four-time World Player of the Year only signed a new contract last year but his new deal sees him earn an eye-watering €25 million per year, €500,000 per week deal.

Messi is the highest scorer in Barca's history with 354 goals in 424 official matches.

But there had been question marks over his future with Barcelona with suggestions that Barca would even be willing to sell their greatest ever player.

He will play for Argentina at this summer's World Cup.
