McLaren F1 team principal Martin Whitmarsh has confirmed he would be interested in bringing Fernando Alonso back to the team.
The two-times world champion is contracted to Ferrari until 2016 - but it's thought the addition of Kimi Raikkonen could cause friction.
Whitmarsh says McLaren's line-up is likely to be the same for next season, but says Alonso is in "control of his own destiny".
Alonso infamously fell out with the team in his only season with McLaren over his status following Lewis Hamilton's impressive performances.
But McLaren are well off the pace this season with the team fifth in the Constructors' Championship. Jenson Button and Sergio Perez have failed to get a podium place in 2013, with the Briton's 5th place in China, their highest point-scoring position.
