Rory McIlroy shot a 4 under score of 67 at the Korean Open to tie for second and fall just one shot short of winning his first tournament win of 2013.
McIlroy made a late charge for the win on the final day, following a disappointing 4 over third round of 75. The world number 6 scored four birdies, one eagle and a bogey at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club but lost out to Korean Kang Sung-Hoon, who finished the tournament on 4 under overall, with a final round of 2 under.
On the European Tour, Peter Lawrie has kept his Tour card, narrowly, with a tied 18th placed finish at the Perth International.
The Dubliner finished 109th on this year’s money list, with just the top 110 keeping their cards.
David Higgins was not so fortunate, however, finishing 115th.
