For all of the romanticism and dreams of underdog glory, it was the cold, ruthless play of Mayo that dominated the Connacht final, as James Horan’s side collected their third consecutive Connacht title with a 5-11 to 0-10 win.
London were within 7 at half-time but they were blown away by an attacking onslaught from Mayo in the second half. Cillian O’Connor entered the game at the break and finished with 3 goals and 3 points. Mayo amassed 16 wides; along with their 26 points. London scored just 2 points from play.
Mayo now go to the All-Ireland quarter final stage, while London’s summer continues with a fourth round qualifier against Cavan.
