Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that Aiden McGeady is likely to go on loan until the end of the season.

The Irish international needs first-team football in order to secure his place in Martin O'Neill's squad for Euro 2016.

And Martinez says that there has been significant interest in the winger, whose wage situation puts him out of the reach of his former club Celtic.

"There have been three enquiries and it's going to be over the next couple of weeks when we're going to make the final decision," said Martinez.

"There's going to be a short-term deal so Aiden can play football and finish the season really strong.

McGeady's Everton and Ireland team-mate Darron Gibson is also due to move on loan and is believed to be subject of interest from Aston Villa and Sunderland.
