The Ireland squad have held their first training session of the week this afternoon as they prepare for the upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia.

Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers took part in the work-out today after approaching Martin O'Neill and his coaching staff about getting involved.

SC Cambuur midfielder Jack Byrne, who is on loan from Manchester City, has also been training with the squad, reportedly impressing O'Neill in training, although he is likely viewed as one for the future.

As well as preparing for Euro 2016, O'Neill has also been asked if he is also considering his player options ahead of the start of the next World Cup qualifying campaign in September.

"Everything's really focused on the Euros. I think after these two games then it means we're down then to the Dutch game, possibility of trying to organise another match as well after the Holland game's. It's something we're thinking about. But after these two games, it's about finalising a certain group of players and hoping they come through unscathed for the next couple of months," said O'Neill.

Ireland play Switzerland on Friday, before hosting Slovakia three days later again at the Aviva Stadium.
