Coming into the Munster Football Final, there were so many doubts about this reconfigured Kerry side. Yet the Kingdom rose to the occasion against Cork on Sunday to record a commanding 0-24 to 0-12 win over the Rebels at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Marc O'Se knows a thing or two about bringing Munster titles back to the Kingdom and the 34-year-old was delighted with the performance.

"Winning the breaks around the middle gave us that platform where we could kick ball in and I think the boys were outstanding. Every one of the forwards contributed," said O'Se, heaping praise on the likes of Paul Geaney and Declan O'Sullivan.

"We also had fellas from the bench who really stood up," he added.

However, he also sounded a note of caution as optimism rebuilds ahead of the All Ireland series.

"We have to knuckle down. We've been in this position before where we went down there in 2010 and we just got a draw at full time and beat them in extra time. We were delighted to be facing Down in a quarter-final and then next thing we were out of the Championship at the quarter-final stage. So we're under no illusions that yesterday was a great win but at the end of the day, there's no All Irelands handed out in July."

But he felt some of the players got some "unfair criticism" during the initial struggles during the league.
