Manchester United's tour of China hit a bump when their flight to Beijing was diverted to make an emergency landing and they have since had more hardship to contend with this weekend.

After finally arriving in the Chinese capital ahead of their International Champions Cup tie against Manchester City, Jose Mourinho's scheduled press conference was relocated to the side of a pitch, due to the melting temperatures in the conference room at the Olympic Sports Centre.

That venue is understood to have been a last second choice after both City and United were told that they could not train on the pitch at the Bird's Nest Stadium. The latest setback serves to compound their misery over the weekend but they're not out of the woods yet.

Weather conditions are poor in China at present, and both squads are waiting to hear if their clash tomorrow will go ahead as further showers are predicted in the coming hours.

After suffering a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Friday, Mourinho will be eager to restore confidence in the squad in the embryonic stages of his new post at the Premier League club.
