Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on securing the signature of Benfica's Victor Lindelof during the January transfer window.

It's rumoured that Mourinho has dispatched scouts to watch Lindelof, who will only become available next month if his side fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. Spokesmen from the Portuguese club have supposedly told the Premier League club that they will not allow allow Lindelof to leave, if they progress further in the Champions League.

Lindelof is said to be worth an estimated £25m and has impressed his fellow country man Zlatan Ibrahimovic as well as Mourinho.

Speculation over Lindelof renewing his contract with Benfica continues in Portugal. Benfica are eager to keep him and thus accumulate the value of his contract clause as the 22-year-old's agent continues to push for a better salary. Chelsea and Inter-Milan have also been linked with the player.
