The latest issue of Vanity Fair unveiled some new details about the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens - but there was a little bit of information about another beloved franchise too.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm back in 2012, they also acquired the rights to Indiana Jones. There has long been rumours that the action hero would return, and now Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed another Indiana Jones film “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”
There is no indication what form the sequel will take - no word if Harrison Ford will return, or whether the whip will be passed to a younger actor for a new series of films.
Chris Pratt has been rumoured as a possible new Indy, with director Steven Spielberg reportedly interested in making a sequel with the new Hollywood action star.
Whatever form the eventual Indiana Jones 5 (or prequel, or reboot) will take, fans will undoubtedly be keeping their fingers crossed that there will be no nuking of any fridges this time around.
