Liverpool midfielder Lucas has been ruled out for between five and six weeks with a thigh injury.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the Brazilian's injury, which he suffered during the loss to Man City in the League Cup final.

The defensive midfielder has deputise in defence lately due to injuries to a host of Liverpool defenders.

However, there is better news in relation to Daniel Sturridge, who has been declared fit after he was rested for the midweek win over Manchester City in the League.

The striker is now likely to start in Sunday's game against Crystal Palace.
