There is plenty of Irish interest on the final day of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational as Shane Lowry and Graham McDowell remain in the hunt for top honours at the event.

Lowry sits in third place on -7 behind Justin Rose and Jim Furyk, who hold a two shot lead over the Clara native. 

Lowry helped himself to five birdies at Firestone Country Club in his third day out on the course and is firmly in contention for the €1.4 million winner's prize having recently missed the cut on the second day of the 144th Open Championship in St.Andrews.

The Offaly man landed a third round score of 67 to go along with his first day 70 and impressive second day 66 to put himself in prime position to mount a charge for victory on the final day.

Graham McDowell sits on -4 having shot a third round 69 to leave him in eight place entering the final day of action in Akron, Ohio. He sits just five off the lead and will attempt to push the 

Padraig Harrington sits tied for 63rd along with four other golfers having shot round of 72, 72, 74 to bring him into the final day of action.

Harrington tees off at 1.20pm while Lowry will take to the course at 7pm with McDowell teeing off a half an hour before Lowry at 6.30pm. (All times shown are Irish time)
