Liverpool have met the release clause in Christian Benteke's contract.

The figure was £32.5M for the Aston Villa striker.

Earlier this week, Villa manager Tim Sherwood said he would be powerless to stop the Belgium international from leaving if the figure was met.

TalkSport have also reported that Benteke has already made his way to Merseyside to undergo a medical as the move nears completion.
