It happens all the time a player wants to leave the club don’t want to let him go so the Chairman/Chief Executive and manager says he’s going nowhere. This situation is no different and even though Luis Suarez has been banished from the first team squad training session’s for the moment John W Henrys comments seem to suggest he has a future at the club despite publically questioning the integrity of the manager and those who are running the show at Anfield.

Arsenal are interested and Suarez wants to go but Liverpool if they are to cash in would be hesitant to sell him to a Premier league rival but will anyone outside be willing to pay the 60 million euro it may take to get the 26 year old?

The other question is who would they buy if they sold Suarez this close to the start of the season, granted he was always going to miss the first 6 games through suspension so they had planned for the early season without him, will they be planning for the long term without him ? well these quotes from John W Henry seem to suggest other wise

Ahead of their arrival in Ireland for tomorrows sold out Dublin Decider at the Aviva which is live on Newstalk the club have re-iterated Suarez is staying……. Just like Ronaldo was staying at Old Trafford, Torres was staying at Liverpool, Bale is staying at Spurs and Fabregas was not going to Barcelona!

"We're not in Europe this year and have not been in the Champions League for a while. To sell to a rival for those positions, or one of them, would be ludicrous.

"Liverpool needs to be playing in Europe, it needs to be playing in the Champions League. That's what Liverpool football club is about."

"I'm unequivocal that we won't sell to Arsenal, whatever the bid is," he said. "I have not said it to Stan (Kroenke, Arsenal's majority shareholder) but I had a personal conversation with Ivan Gazidis (Arsenal chief executive) and told him we would not sell.

"He won't be sold even if a foreign club comes in, because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement.

"It's a football reason, it's not about finances. That's why, at this point, so late in the window, with everyone who's already moved or isn't moving, we can't replace him. So, for football reasons, we can't sell, and especially to Arsenal."
