It finished scoreless at the Liberty Stadium between Swansea and Liverpool as Brendan Rodgers came back to the club he served so well.

The Reds boss started Stewart Downing at left back while Jordan Henderson came in for Suso.

Swansea boss Michael Laudrap also made two changes with Chico and Wayne Routledge in for Gary Monk and Nathan Dyer.

Liverpool had the better chances in the first 45 minutes at the Liberty Stadium but could not break through.

Jose Enrique had a goal disallowed for offside while Raheem Sterling hit the crossbar.

Swansea came into the game in the second half and skipper Ashley Williams had a header cleared off the line by his countryman Joe Allen.

And neither could find the net with the result putting Swansea up to 8th and lifting Liverpool up to 11th.
