Liverpool have said Luis Suarez is not for sale. The player announced earlier today he wants to leave the club, due to his treatment at the hands of the British press.

The club has said they support the player, but expect him to honour his contract. A spokesperson for the club also said he is not for sale:

 "Luis Suarez is not for sale. Neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to Liverpool.

"The club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. The club will not be making any further comment at this stage."
