Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow got their Olympic golf campaigns off to a difficult start this afternoon, with both golfers shooting over-par opening rounds.
Maguire struggled to find her rhythm this afternoon as she shot 74 in Rio.
The 21-year-old finished on three-over-par after two bogeys on the front nine was followed by a double bogey around the turn.
What proved a difficult day on course, she finished with a bogey on 15 before a birdie on 16, before two solid pars to closed out her round.

Meadow started at a slightly later time and again found it difficult to find any momentum, finishing with a six-over-par round of 77.
She had to endure a particularly difficult back nine, picking up three bogeys and, like Maguire, picked up a double bogey on 10.
