It was the club's eight straight win and puts them three points ahead of champions Bayern Munich at the top of the table.

Goals from Timo Werner and two from Sead Kolasinac at either end gave the hosts a 2-1 win.

Elsewhere Hertha Berlin beqat Wolfsburg 3-2 in a lively affair while Borussia Dortmund beat Borussia Monchengladbach 4-1 to keep pace with the leaders. Dortmund currently sit nine points off the top.
In Saturday's other fixtures, Leverkusen and Freiburg drew 1-1, Werder Bremen beat Ingolstadt 2-1 and Hoffenheim overcame Koln 4-0.
