Some of the best teenage talent from Irish and Australian rugby union will be on show in Donnybrook tonight as Leinster Schools take on their Australian counterparts.

It is the first game of the Australian Schools' tour of Ireland with clashes against Ireland U19s and Munster Schools to come.

The touring side have been housed with local families so they can learn about the history and culture of the area.

Meanwhile, the core of the Leinster Schools team is drawn from Blackrock College, Clongowes Wood College and St Michael's College.

Leinster head coach Matt O'Connor represented Australia Schools in his youth but also sees the game as a good opportunity for players who could go on to represent Leinster and Ireland in the future.

He said: Leinster Rugby are extremely proud of their Age Grade structures and tonight is an opportunity for players from the Schools and Youths sections to showcase their talents against a strong Australian Schools.

"I was extremely proud to represent Australian Schools in my formative years in the game and I remember it being such a thrill at that point in my career. The Australian Schools have produced a myriad of international talent over the years including players of the calibre of the Ella brothers, Tim Horan, Michael Lynagh and Simon Poidevin - to name but a few - and I have no doubt that we will see some of you one day graduate to wear the gold of the Wallabies in years to come."
