Roscommon manager John Evans has admitted that recent Allianz League success may have softened his side as they slipped to a surprise defeat to Sligo in the Connacht Championship on Saturday evening.

Oisin Langan was our commentator for that game at Markievicz and afterwards he spoke to the Rossies chief.

"There's a friend of mine, Mick O'Dwyer, who used to say 'if you win a league or a cup' and we have two cups. Even though we did put them into the bag and did hide them, I think it did soften our approach somewhat, even though we tried to protect that," he told Oisin.

"But not taking away from Sligo who deserved what they got out of it and they put in a huge effort," he concluded.
