It wouldn't be a GAA summer without an administrative error.

Fresh off the Christy Ring Cup Final saga, it looks like the football championship is about to hand the GAA hierarchy another headache. It's still only June.

Laois may be forced to replay their Round 1A Football Qualifier against Armagh after using an extra sub in their three-point win last weekend.

Mick Lillis' side used seven substitutes on Saturday in Portlaoise, one more than the allowed six. The GAA rule's state that forfeiture, a replay or a fine are the potential solutions.

Shane Murphy was introduced into the game deep into injury time for the black-carded Brendan Quigley. After Murphy's introduction, Laois went on to score a final point in the 1-10 to 0-10 win.

On Monday morning, the Leinster side were drawn to meet Clare in Round 2A of the Football Qualifiers. It looks like they have have to beat Armagh once more if they are to set up that date in Ennis
