Ladies football will honour the passing of former Armagh county secretary in a memorial match this October.

“All in for Ann” is a ladies charity football match, organised by Armagh ladies football manager, James Daly, in honour of his late wife Ann.

James has been involved with the ladies set-up for seven years and will bring together an Ulster Selection vs. All-Ireland Selection to participate.

The charity match is aiming to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and he spoke to Off The Ball last night about the connection he and his wife had with Armagh GAA.

"I've been involved in Armagh GAA for seven years and my wife was a big part of that with me along the way" he explained.

"She passed away 13 month ago, but was involved in the county board set up as the county secretary.

"So after her passing last year we wanted to bring together a couple of charities that she had done work for and I had the idea to bring some of the countries best footballers together for the match on October 3."

The match will take place in  in Dromintee Football Club in Armagh and all funds raised will go to Breast Cancer Awareness, the Ulster Cancer Foundation and Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.

James explained how much the GAA meant to Ann and how committed she was to her community.

"Ann died eight days after we won the Ulster championship. She never missed a game, she as always on the bus and taking pictures with her camera.

"We won the cup on the Sunday and we took it down to her [in hospital] and God love her, she passed eight days later."
