Marcel Kittel of Germany has won today's stage two of the Giro d'Italia in Belfast.

The Orica-GreenEdge rider finished ahead of Nacer Bouhanni in second and Giacomo Nizzolo in third.

Ireland’s Nicolas Roche finished in 34th place today, with Philip Deignan coming home in 123rd place.

By virtue of finishing ahead of his Orica-GreenEdge team-mate Svein Tuft, Australia's Michael Matthews takes the pink jersey.

Tomorrow's stage starts in Armagh, and finishes in Dublin, ahead of the race heading to Italy.

Meanwhile, Ireland's Dan Martin will have surgery tonight on the broken collarbone he suffered in a fall during yesterday's Team Time Trial stage.
