Amid a torrential downpour at Croke Park Kilkenny made their way back to the All-Ireland final with a 2 point win over Limerick. Goals from Richie Hogan and Eoin Larkin proved to be key for Brian Cody’s men as Limerick looked the better side for much of the first half.

The Munster side were dominant in the opening 35 but a Hogan scored the game’s opening goal just before the break to send the Cats in with a 1-09 to 0-10 lead.

Larkin added the second goal with 15 minutes remaining. The game was a thrilling contest as Limerick failed to capitalise on their periods of dominance and Kilkenny kept their noses in front thanks to the goals.

The Cats go on to the final as they hope to regain Liam after a one year lull, while Limerick will know they could have had so much more today.
