It's a cliche that goals win games but either way, two of those proved to be the difference for Kilkenny against Limerick in yesterday's All Ireland semi-final.

At a rain-sodden Croke Park, the Cats won out by a 2-13 to 0-17 scoreline to advance to a first All Ireland final since 2012.

Daithi Regan and Jamesie O'Connor joined us on the line tonight to cast their eyes over the game and while the Cats are in another final, Daithi feels they are still a rung or two below their previous best.

"If you analyse Kilkenny over the last few years and the point Jamesie made about them not being what they were, they're still in an All Ireland. I'd go along with that. When Kilkenny were nigh on untouchable, Richie Power was nigh on unhurlable. They also had two geniuses on their side in Henry Shefflin and Tommy Walsh, who were totally unhurlable. I don't think Kilkenny have a player now who is unhurlable and that's why I think others have a chance," he said.

Jamesie also gave his take on Shefflin, who came off the bench again.

"He has all the hallmarks of a guy who wants to be out there desperately badly and just hasn't got the game-time in his legs," said Jamesie, who feels it will be hard for a great like Shefflin to come to terms with his new role as an impact sub.

While it's no consolation, Jamesie also reckons that this relatively young Limerick side will come again and the lads also discussed some of the controversial refereeing decisions from the match.
