They had not met since exchanging spiky barbs in their respective autobiographies, but this morning Roy Keane and Alex Ferguson did come face to face - albeit absolutely nothing of importance occurred.

The Manchester United pair were in Paris for last night's Champions League match between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain - Keane in a punditry capacity for ITV - and fate decided that they were to share a flight home.

Ferguson was first onto the flight with his wife Cathy, while Keane was the last to board AF1068 after hanging back.

But according to reports, Cathy nudged Fergie as Keane entered the business class section to take his seat three rows and an aisle in front of them.

The former Man United manager did notice his former captain, but returned to perusing the sports pages.
