Katie Taylor has booked her spot at the Olympic Games in Rio this summer after coming through her World Championship quarter-final bout this afternoon.
Taylor, currently Olympic champion in her weight division, produced a dominant display to beat Mexico's Victoria Torres via unanimous decision in Astana.
Torres came out of the blocks fast, delivering a number of powerful body shots. However, Taylor remained strong and moved around the ring well, countering big right hands as she moved.
She now progresses to the semi-final where she is guaranteed a bronze medal.
Earlier today, Kellie Harrington also won her quarter-final to guarantee herself a bronze medal at the world Championships.
