Katie Taylor has won a national title fight for the first time in her career tonight.
Having never been opposed in the lightweight division before, the Olympic gold medallist takes on Tipperary's Shauna O'Keefe in tonight's Women's Elite National Championships at the National Stadium.
Taylor, who has four previous national titles by walkover, won all three rounds tonight, 40-34, 40-36, 40-36.
It was also the first fight that she did not have her father, Pete, in her corner in over a decade tonight.
Pete Taylor had said he is taking a break from corner duty, but is likely to return for the Olympic qualifiers next year.
Her brother Lee and interim Irish coach Zaur Antia were in the corner.
In the other big fight of the night at the Women's Elite National Championships, Michaela Walsh beat defending champion Ceire Smith on points in the flyweight final.
There have also been wins for Lauren Hogan and Dervla Duffy over Donna Barr and Elaine Harrison respectively in their finals.
