Katie Taylor will be taking a big step up in class this weekend when she faces Vivianne Obenauf in her second professional fight.

Taylor will be fighting on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's IBF heavyweight title defence against Eric Molina at the Manchester Arena this Saturday.

Taylor fought journeywoman Karina Kopinska in her pro debut a couple of weeks ago and cruised to a comfortable third round stoppage.

Kopinska came into the bout with a 7-14-3 record, so it is no surprise the Bray native dominated the bout as her footwork, relentless assault and superior conditioning combined for the early stoppage.

Vivianne Obenhauf will enter Saturday's contest with a record of 9-1, including a unanimous decision win over Kopinska in her last bout.

The Brazilian has stopped four of her opponents and has fought all of her fights in her adopted Swiss homeland.

For her part, Taylor is ramping up her preparations as the bout nears. A win for the Irishwoman is crucial if she is to continue on the ambitious road her promoter, Eddie Hearn, has set out.

He announced he is in talks for Taylor to fight in Madison Square Garden on the undercard of middleweight king Gennady Golovkin on St. Patrick's weekend.

Taylor is the third fight on the undercard which also includes the return of Scott Quigg and a WBC heavyweight title eliminator bout between Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora.
