Kaka's departure had always seemed inevitable even if Real Madrid had not signed Gareth Bale.
And now it's official. The Brazilian returns to AC Milan, the club where he made his name and won the World Player of the Year crown in 2007.
Kaka rejoins Milan on a two-year deal on a free transfer from Real Madrid. The 31-year-old will earn €4 million net per season.
However, the Rossoneri are not getting the player that plundered 95 goals in 270 games.
His game was built around a quick change of pace but muscular injuries have robbed him of this key asset.
Moving back to Milan may reinvigorate him as he never wanted to leave in the first place. Milan had to sell for financial reasons as The Guardian's Paolo Bandini confirms:
And remember Kaka never asked to leave. Milan practically pushed him out door because they needed the money. There were tears.

AC Milan have been crying out for an attacking midfielder who can play in the hole behind Mario Balotelli, Stephan El Shaarawy and Robinho.
