It's a stark reminder of Italy's fall from grace within the realm of European football.
But reigning Serie A champions Juventus have admitted that some of their top stars have their price.
The Bianconeri are trying to reestablish themselves as a force in the Champions League but their President Andrea Agnelli conceded that the likes of Paul Pogba would have to be sold if a big offer came in.
Describing Serie A as a stop off point for players rather than a final destination, Agnelli said:
"I am trying to think what will be of us in two or three years' time if we get a massive offer for one of the best talents we have today - Pogba, the French 20-year-old. Would we be able to retain him? I don't know."
Pogba joined Juventus in summer 2012 after growing frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at Man United.
He has been in fine form for Juve since then and is seen as the long-term successor to Andrea Pirlo in the heart of their midfield.
