Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says a run of finishing as a runner-up will spur him on going into tomorrow night's Europa League final.

They face Sevilla in Basel as they look for their first European trophy since they won the Champions League in an Istanbul epic back in 2005.

Klopp lost a number of finals while Borussia Dortmund boss including the 2013 Champions League decider against Bayern Munich and the 2014 and 2015 German Cup finals.

His side also lost to Manchester City on penalties in the Capital One Cup final on February 28th.

"At home I have a little bit too many silver medals ... but it's better than having no medal. But the longer you don't win anything, the harder you try, the more likely it is it will happen and that's what I believe in," said Klopp.

Liverpool last won a trophy of note in 2012 when they triumphed in the League Cup final on penalties against Cardiff City.
