Axed a little over two weeks ago for weight and fitness issues by the Hurricanes, Julian Savea was back to his barnstorming best today against Argentinian outfit the Jaguares.
The All-Black wing returned from a successful World Cup campaign with a winners medal and as top try scorer, but, as he admitted, he enjoyed the post-world cup celebrations a little too much as he joined up with the 'Canes a few pounds heavier than he should have been in the pre-season.
However, following an intensive two week fitness regime, Savea seems to have put that public shaming behind him as returned for the New Zealanders in devastating fashion, grabbing a hat-trick in a comprehensive win.
