US TV court judge Judy Sheindlin has extended her deal with CBS for a further five years.

Sheindlin hosts the top-rated syndicated daytime show, 'Judge Judy'.

She has signed a multi-year deal with CBS TV Distribution that extends through 2020.

'Judge Judy' has been the highest-rated show in first-run syndication for the past five seasons.

Sheindlin (72) made a name for herself as a tough, but fair judge in New York's Family Court.

She retired from the bench in 1996 to bring her trademark wit and wisdom to the widely successful series.

It is reported that her current salary stands at around €42m a year - making her the highest-paid personality on US television.
